Treasured Moments...

Tossing and turning in my bed,
Pulling the blanket over my head,
I wondered why I couldn’t sleep,
What was it that troubled me so deep?


I walked up to the window pane,
And listened to the rhythm of the rain,
A gentle breeze blew along,
And now I knew what was wrong.
The night out there was heavenly,
And everything seemed lovely,


But my heart felt heavy, I let out a sigh,
I felt so lonely, I couldn’t even cry.
I remembered the moments we spent together,
Those rare moments that I will cherish forever,
Now how could I enjoy this beautiful night,
You weren’t near me, how could things be right?


I remembered that moment, you held my hand in yours,
And looked at me, as if saying, I’m always yours,
That day, hardly did we speak,
And then a tear rolled down my cheek.
I don’t know how long I sat by the window that night,
But I couldn’t sleep, nothing seemed right.


When will such treasured moments come back to me,
When I can, in your arms, forever be.
